We want you to find the next level of performance that the proper dance wear provides. Let us serve you with products and insights that will make you grow as we follow you in your journey and make you part of the Lucienne Family. When you purchase any item from Lucienne Dance Works, you can know that we have used that product, in real life dance situations and found it to be superior. Currently we only feature Ray Rose shoes, as other brands we've tested just weren't up to our expectations, in terms of materials, workmanship, design and function. We actively are evaluating other shoe brands, as well as apparel and costuming, and only after it meets our standards do we pass it along to you. So who are we to determine what's good? Chad BrooksChad was the initial founder of Lucienne Dance Works. He is a professional dancer, coach and pro/am competitor, with students that have won first place honors at many of the most prestigious events in America, including the Ohio Star Ball and Holiday Dance Classic. While working with his students he became aware of how difficult it was for them to stand firmly on one leg without the ankle quivering. He took his knowledge and training in Anatomy and Kinesiology and applied it to finding the best dance shoe available to provide stability for his students. Once he found Ray Rose, with their superior heel placement and arch design he began importing the shoes for his students, and then began to expand the business, bringing in his students, and Amateur Latin Competitors, Jessica and Norbert as partners to create a dynamic set of talents to ensure we're able to provide the highest quality products available. Chad also maintains an active blog on the subject of DanceSport, where he shares his insights on various topics. Check out DanceSport Insider at DanceSportInsider.com for his latest thoughts on the world we love so much. Norbert TestonFor over a decade, Norbert has worked with quality control for one of the worlds largest athletic shoe manufacturers. His job led him to becoming the highest ranking Quality Control Manager in America, which brought him from his original home in France, to Portland, Oregon. He began working with Chad in the International Latin division, winning several competitions in the Gold level, and then began working with Jessica Lindsey toward Open Latin. Currently they are the highest ranking Latin couple in Oregon and have traveled to various competitions around the country to continue to improve their ability and their ranking. With his years spent in quality control in footwear, he is an expert in evaluating the craftsmanship and quality of a pair of shoes. His approval on our product line means the product is going to stand up to the rigors that competitors place on their footwear. Sadly, we've discovered many footwear products on the market today are sub-par in terms of material and construction, and we remain committed to applying our knowledge to giving you only the best of what's available. Jessica LindseyWith more than 20 years of experience in various forms of dance, and 10 years of training in yoga, Jessica is well versed in the demands and the frustrations that come when looking for the right equipment for dance. She currently actively competes Open Amateur Latin with Norbert, as well as Pro/Am Latin, Rhythm, Standard and Theater Arts, with Chad. She recently placed 3rd at the 2009 World Pro/Am Theater Arts Championships, and is actively training for the 2010 championships that will happen in November. When something meets Jessica's approval, you can know that every possible situation has been tested, from fast footwork, dramatic split and dip lines, to the rigors of technique training. She expects a lot from her dance gear, and helps test everything in the real world so we can know what we offer is the best. Quality TestingIf you are aware of a product that might meet up to our high standards, or are looking for an educated evaluation of what will be best for your needs, email us at lucienne@luciennedance.com and we will happily share our experience with you. Chances are, if it's a high profile brand, we've tested it, or are currently putting it through the paces. Our current projects include the Russian shoe manufacturer, Aida, as well as the Portuguese brand Rummos. On the apparel side, we've been evaluating Indonesian designer Espen-Salbergs line. If they pass our tests, look to see them join our line up in the next few months. |
